Men’s Group: SPECIAL MEETING!! ALL St. James men are invited to join this great group of guys for a very special meeting! Paul deLeon, English teacher for immigrant students at Beaumont Magnet School, and Lourdes Garda, director of Hispanic Ministry for the Catholic Diocese of Knoxville, are volunteers with the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition. They will speak on what we know about immigration, what we’d like to know, and what we want to about it. Breakfast will be served at 9 am with the meeting beginning right after that.

St. James Sunday is Sundae Sunday!
The ECW will hold a Rummage Sale, Friday, August 13 and Saturday August 14. You can help in two BIG ways:First, gather up your best stuff–good toys, collectibles, kitchen items, nice towels and linens, framed pictures, functional furniture, knick knacks, costume jewelry, infant and toddlet clothes, men’s and women’s accessories (please, no clothing). The dates you can bring your donations will be announced in the coming weeks. Please don’t bring them just yet.Second, COME and support the St. James women and find some new treasures at the same time!The ECW will have an annual arts and crafts fair, December 3 + 4. Episcopal School Student Hosts “LemonAid” Stand to Aid the Hungry
On Tuesday, Aug. 3, Episcopal School of Knoxville 5th grader Damon Rodefer will host his 2nd annual LemonAid Stand to raise money to feed hungry families. Proceeds will go to Knoxville’s FISH Hospitality Pantries. Last August, Damon raised nearly $4500 for FISH, helping to feed 900 families. This year he hopes to raise even more. Damon’s LemonAid stand will be in the lobby of accounting firm Rodefer Moss & Co., 608 Mabry Hood Road , Knoxville, from 9 a.m. until noon. In the afternoon, the LemonAid stand will be in the lobby of Clayton Bank and Trust, 620 Market St. , from noon until 4 p.m. All are asked to come buy Damon’s freshly squeezed lemonade and make a donation to FISH. Hello, everyone!
St. James Day will be celebrated NEXT Sunday, July 25 with Sundae Sunday right after the 10:30 service. Be sure to wear your RED shirts–or something else RED. Tee shirts will be on sale after the 10:30 service this Sunday.
Tomorrow (Friday, July 16) is the August newsletter deadline. Please send your lay assignments and any ministry news to Linda (lgoins@stjamesknox.org) and Marilyn (mcanady@stjamesknox.org) by tomorrow afternoon.
This Saturday, July 17, 10:00 am is the regular meeting of the St. James Episcopal Church Women. All women of the church are invited and encouraged to join this great group of women who do so much for the parish and the community! For information, contact Trudi Pullen, 579-6867.
Speaking of the ECW…..There’s going to be a RUMMAGE SALE, August 13+14! Please gather your best “old stuff” and be watching for the dates you can bring it in for the sale. And by all means, mark you calendars to come! There are always real treasures to be found at the St. James Rummage Sale!
This Sunday is Christmas in July for our Helping Hands Food Pantry. Please bring a small gift for a child that will be given during the Christmas Pantry.

The Sunday evening Reading Book Club starts this Sunday at 5:00 pm! It’s not too late to join Percy Jackson and the Olympians and all of their adventures!The Reading Club still needs empty cereal boxes, tissue boxes, paper towel or toilet paper cores, and newspapers.There will be NO Fellowship Dinner in July.St. James Day will be celebrated Sunday, July 25 with Sundae Sunday after the 10:30 service. Red St. James tee-shirts will be sold by the youth group Sunday, July 18. On St. James Day, everyone should were RED (tee shirt or otherwise) and plan to have a great time!Please complete the Christian Formation survey in the Parish Hall so plans can be made for programs YOU are interested in!Start saving your gently-used treasures for the August ECW Rummage Sale. Be watching for where and when to bring your things in.

It may be a hot, sultry summer, but that doesn’t stop all of the really great things going on at St. James!

LUNCH BUNCH this Sunday!!
Christian Formation Survey forms are in the Parish Hall. Please complete one and place it in the box. Your ideas are really important as we plan the new Christian Formation year!
Baptism Dates are set for St. James Day, July 25, and All Saints’ Day, November 7. Please contact Fr. John Mark (jwiggers@stjamesknox.org; 523-5687) if you or a family member wishes to be baptized.
Bishop Search and Transition information is posted at http:/www.etdiocese-search.com/. Please keep the Bishop vonRosenberg and Mrs.vonRosenburg, as well as the search committee, in your prayers during this time of transition.
Have you heard about Summer Adventures Reading Club? Rising third-graders through high schoolers (and adults who enjoy working with kids and reading adventures) are invited to get together for fun and excitement with The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan, sponsored by St. James and the Literacy Imperative, Sundays, July 11-August 15, 5-8 pm. Speaking of reading, the St. James Library is working with the Boys and Girls Club to read to children and to tutor reading during the month of July. Jane Clift and Betty Bowling will be in the Conference Room after the 10:30 service this Sunday to sign people up. C’mon by!
Jim Muir Kamp for Kids, a camp for the children of encarcerated parents, named for our beloved Jim Muir, runs July 19-22 at Grace Point. The cost per camper is $325. If you would like to sponsor a child, please see the donation form in this Sunday’s bulletin, or call the church office and we will send one to you. More more information, you may contact Fr. Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day Weekend, everyone!
Appalachian Kid’s Camp: July 6-8 – Megan Alden will be in charge of the Appalachian Kid’s Camp this year. Megan will be collecting a few items for the kids to use at camp from now until July 4th. Please donate to the box in the parish hall if you can help. Needs include: spray deodorant (20), toothbrushes (20), small toothpaste (20), small shampoo and conditioners (20 each), and empty gallon milk jugs.
Summer project: The library has arranged with the Boys and Girls club to go to their facility and read to the small children and do some reading tutoring for the older children. We would like to have interested people help us in this project. We will be doing this during the month of July on Tuesdays and Thursdays anytime between 10:00 and 4:00. Anyone interested needs to contact Jane Clift, 679-9110 or Betty Bowling, 584-0430.
Summer Adventures Book Club for 3rd graders through high school will be held Sunday evenings, July 11-August 5th, 5- 8 pm. If you have a child who would enjoy exploring Rick Riordan’s The Lightening Thief, all about vanquishing monsters and saving Olympus, you can register on Sunday.
